The effects of observation

The baby red wings are dead. When I walked by this morning the smell of skunk was quite strong and the nest was empty. When we started watching them they became observable and lost the invisibility that had protected them for weeks. Quantum effects playing havoc in the world.

I wonder how much we change the world by observing it. I also wonder how much we miss by not knowing how to see.

Hellooooo - its been over a month!
What gives?
I know that July must be a super busy month for farmers but I'm getting a little depressed about the baby redwings... and would like some new news.

About seeing; isn't it funny how we just don't see things that we don't know are there, or should I say don't "see" because we just don't have them listed in our mental database. Like when you first learn the name of a new indigenous plant, suddenly its all around you and just last week you never even noticed it y'know? I too wonder how much we miss because we just don't know what to look for.

I don't think the Heisenberg Effect is the issue here.
