Fire Season Starts.

Only 1 day left to get involved in the
Blogger Action Day!
GET WITH IT!

It was 33 degrees this morning when I went out to do chores. Not the first cold, frosty morning we have had, but today is different. The clouds have rolled in again, a cold rain is starting to fall, and it doesn't look like it will get up to 50 today.

In the Fall we depend on some sun to warm the house. We're OK with the house being in the 40's when we get up in the morning. A hot mug of coffee, a lap rug, and a good breakfast usually keep us warm enough to get the day started. Then the sun comes up and warms the house. The kids find a sunny spot to bask, like the cats on the porch, and by lunch time we are shedding sweaters, thinking it's too hot.

No sun today to warm us. Cold, gray, feels like winter. Today we will start the fire and keep it going all day. The first of this heating season. According to the weather guessers we should have a bit of a warm-up coming in a few days. That will be nice. I'm not ready for the cold, gray, sleep-deprived, winter season. For now, I'll enjoy the snap and crackle of fire in the fireplace, and hold out hope of a few more bright warm days before winter.

Bliss!
