Fudge Contest

I finally got everything done for our online store listing on Local Harvest. We are now selling 6 different kinds of goat milk fudge on line in 1/2 lb and 1 lb packages. We are also selling every week at the Coshocton Farmers Market, and daily at our farm shop. Sales are doing well. It is nice to have a farm product that is really taking off. Right now we are selling 6 different flavors - chocolate, chili chocolate, lemon chocolate, peanut butter, lavender honey, and butter pecan. We would like to add a couple of new flavors. We will be accepting suggestions for new flavors from now until the end of July. We will make them and have a panel of judges (a group of friends who love our fudge and give us really useful, honest feedback) select the best new flavors for our market. Then we will take them to market the second week in August and let the customers decide. The two that get the top customer votes will be added to our line of flavors and the person who sent in the flavor will receive their choice of a pound of the fudge they suggested or a sample pack containing a taste of each of our fudge flavors. You may enter as many flavors as you want. You may add them to the comments here or send them in an email to alan@roberts-roost.com

Hmm, coffee (or Kahlua), mocha and mint. Though penuche is one of my all time favorites. Though one of the best I've ever tasted is cookies 'n cream. I think that had a lot to do with how good the fudge was and not the individual flavor.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a butter rum fudge. Hmmmm

A few flavor combinations I can think of...

Chai spice...steep black/green tea leaves in the heating milk, sweetened with honey not sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, clove - a nice twist on divinity?

Mexican chocolate...A dark chocolate fudge with cinnamon.

Maple Walnut...

Mocha Java...Dark chocolate with brewed coffee...

Bacon! I realize that bacon is so hot right now that it is almost a cliche, but I'm hooked on a great bacon-chocolate bar and I think that it would be excellent as a fudge.

Chocolate mint, chocolate orange, chocolate raspberry….white chocolate cranberry…strawberry chocolate, dark chocolate ginger, dark chocolate lavender, dark chocolate cherry, maybe even some herby ones like rosemary or basil!

I love chocolate mint fudge. I make that every Christmas and I'd make it all year round except I'd probably be waddling by now if I did!

White chocolate macadamia fudge?

White or regular chocolate fudge with crushed peppermint candies?

Chocolate and maraschino cherries!! yum! Add some chopped almonds to that, too!

Nothing like good old fashioned Maple Walnut fudge!

Also, because I'm a peanut butter nut and chocolate fanatic, I do like the peanut butter fudge and chocolate layered together in a Reeses Pieces fudge.

Birch syrup fudge for a 'going local' or 'wild-crafted' type fudge.

think berries: blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, mulberry, gooseberry or dewberry fudge all sound delightful!

my all time favorite combination with chocolate though is the seeds of change Bayano Dark Chocolate with Cacao Nibs and Cinnamon Essence. yum, yum, yum!

Peanut butter combined with a marshmallow and/or a milk chocolate chip/chunk. Heavenly! (I like a lot of the previously submitted ideas, too -- butter rum would be scrumptious!)
